number1 Tom and Paul want to make a banner 140 cm long by joining some pieces of paper together. The pieces are 22cm wide. They overlap each other by 2cm.

How many pieces of paper will they need?

number2 This is a plan of Mr Smith's garden. He wants to build a fence around the perimeter. How many metres of fencing does he need?

What is the area of his garden in m² ? You can show your working out.
130 + 35 = 165m²

 

number3 This ring is made of regular pentagons with sides of 10cm.

What is the length of the outer edge of the ring?
20 x 10 = 200cm

What is the length of the inner edge of the ring?
10 x 10 = 100cm

 

number4 The reading at A is 200g.

What are the readings at B, C and D?
(Give your answer in g or Kg and g)

B = ... 750g ...  C = ... 1kg 350g ...  D = ... 1kg 800g ...
