Reflection is a skill that is important to all aspects of your learning and development and essential in your practice.
Reflection means looking back on an experience and making sense of it to identify what to do in the future. It allows you to become self aware and to evaluate your development. Reflection helps us repeat what was effective, learn from positive or negative situations, and builds confidence.
Many students who are new to the process of reflection struggle to 'get going' we offer you some guidelines to help you start to use the reflective process effectively (page 11).
We have an extract from an assignment written by Jess, one of our first year students (page 23). Jess reflects on an experience from group work in her Interprofessional module. You will also be able to view the feedback given by her facilitator.
For those of you who like a challenge we have included a word search and test for you (page 33)
We hope you will find this issue helpful and inspires you to engage with the reflection process in a positive way throughout your studies. The Editor
