Swimming Clubs and PoolsClubsThere are clubs based at most swimming pools. They vary in size but all of them have approved coaching staff. Almost all of the 1700 clubs throughout the UK are registered with the ASA. Each club's committee sets fees and charges. Generally you pay an annual membership fee and a fixed amount each time you train or swim. Every club has club galas, inter club competitions with other clubs and social events for its members. Clubs that register their members with the ASA can send swimmers to County, Regional or National Competitions providing they reach the approved qualifying time.
Some clubs are starting to use the Internet to supply information. Check out the Clubs and Teams at http://www.yahoo.co.uk/Regional/Countries/United_Kingdom/
