Duties and Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a Development Manager to join the Business team in our Head Offices in Sheffield. This is a rare opportunity to become a part of a renowned team in the Business Partnership.

As the Development Manager, you will be responsible for approaching new clients, negotiating new contracts and maintaining a pipeline of cases, where you'll be selling the benefits of our product range.

This is a customer facing role leading a team of Sales Managers/Sales Executives to deliver outstanding Commercial success

  • Develop strategy to identify, connect with and sell to key target high potential accounts
  • Create and present compelling proposals to customers in person and through written presentations
  • Attend tradeshows and appropriate events, to generate new business
  • Ensure third party promotion of products are in line with brand guidelines
  • Maintain excellent brand and product knowledge in order to be able to service a wide range of customers across the breadth of the assortment
  • Liaise with the Sales Manager and Business Sales Coordinator team to ensure outstanding customer service and a seamless customer experience
  • Work with the Sales Promotion Executive to develop a marketing calendar
  • Optimise profitability through price negotiation
  • Manage four line reports, which you will coach, support and cross train to deliver exceptional results in the Sales Team
Job Requirements

Customer:

  • Develop and implement selling strategy and proposition for the B2B sales team, based on up to date and in depth market and industry insight and a full analytical understanding of B2B performance and trends.
  • Deliver sales plan and financial performance of B2B team by setting direction, supporting and challenging Sales Managers and Partners to actively sell the product assortment and manage margin through control of discount levels. Take remedial action where needed.

Partner:

  • Lead, inspire, motivate and develop the B2B team in alliance with Head of Business to Business and Operations Manager.
  • Drive Sales Managers and Sales Executives performance and continuous improvement through active use of performance and development tools, establishing a high performing Sales team.

Profit:

  • Achieve profit targets and margin targets by taking ownership for discount and negotiation of contracts.
  • Achieve market share targets by managing and developing team to grow sales via increased business from existing customers and a pipeline of new business.

Essential expereince skills and qualifications
  • Proven B2B sales experience
  • Salesforce knowledge
  • Proven experience of leading a team, particularly Sales team members.
  • Self motivated individual.
Desirable experience skills and qualifications

Retail knowledge beneficial, particularly Gift Card, Luxury Gift sales, Home produts etc...

Previous knowlege/experience within Property Development sales useful.
