You will be able to use feedback well if you:
- check you have understood it
- have an open mind (don't take it as a personal threat)
- get advice about actions to take
- decide whether you agree with it (does the other person know all the factors involved? are they likely to be right / are their views significant.
If you are asked for feedback:
- give it as soon after the event as possible
- be specific and avoid judgement words, allow the other person to see areas they can develop personally and professionally.
