Welcome to Rowing |
||||||||||||||
For many people, rowing was simply a means of getting across a stretch of water on a boat. It is, in fact, a traditional sport dating back to the ancient Egyptians and Romans but the sport has come a long way since those ancient galley races. Today, it is a popular recreation sport enjoyed by men, women and juniors around the world as a means of relaxing and keeping fit. It can be competitive or just for fun! This site looks at different rowing events. It provides advice and information for young rowers, and tells you a little bit about the history of the sport. You can find information about joining a club, what to wear, and the organisations that govern the sport in this country and around the world. Although it is often considered a fine weather sport, these pages might encourage you to enjoy the sport of rowing all year round.
