Step up

This is a great exercise to develop your glutes and hamstrings, these are essential in driving you forward during skating. The stronger these muscles are the faster you will potentially go!

Nick top tip; Ensure you are well balanced at all times, start with no weight like the lunges until you have the correct technique. Slowly build the weight up and you'll go far! To further develop your skating ability try to do these laterally, this will develop your skating strides and push off power.

Box jumps

This exercise aims to promote explosive skating, the aim of this activity is to jump with both feet at the same time with equal power going through each leg.

Nick's top tip; Once you have the correct technique you can add dumbbells into each hand to further work out your legs.
