The School Year

Mr Smith and his class have made a school diary, but have forgotten to add the months. Can you help them? Think about when the school year starts and ends.

Month S____________________

Back to school for the start of the new school year.

Month O____________________

On the 31st, we made Halloween masks and lanterns.

Month N____________________

Mr Barnes, the caretaker, made a small bonfire in the corner of the field. Mrs Scott, the head teacher lit some fireworks. Mrs. Thomson, the cook, helped some of us to make toffee.

Month D____________________

We had a carol concert and a Christmas party during the last week at school. We finished school for the Christmas holidays on the 22nd, two days before Christmas.

Month J____________________

The start of a new year, and back to school for the Spring Term.

Month F____________________

This was the shortest month of the year but we still did a lot of work! We think Mr Smith got a Valentine card but he wasn't telling!

Month M____________________

It was a very windy month. We had a school trip to the park. Everything was starting to grow. There were new leaves on the trees and the park was covered with daffodils.

Month A____________________

Our class had an Easter egg competition. We all had to decorate a hard-boiled egg. John won. He painted his egg green and added legs and huge eyes. Can you guess what it was?

Month M____________________

We had a garden party at school. Some of the children from our class danced around the maypole.

Can you write something that the class might have put for the next three months?
