Welcome to Athletics

pic2Although you may represent a team, club or country, athletics is very much an individual sport (except for the relay), where you race or compete against other athletes or the clock. The range of events within the sport is so diverse, there is something to capture everyone's interest, whether you are a competitor or a spectator.

This site looks at the range of events in athletics and provides advice and information for you, the young athlete, if you want to know more about the sport. Read about the history of athletics, find out what to wear, learn about the different events and check out some of the links to other pages on the web.

At school, athletics is often a fine weather sport, but these pages tell you how to enjoy what it has to offer, all year round.
