Bus travel is the cheapest way to get around. Most bus companies offer student discounts for local or long distance travel.

How much does it cost? | Some companies make no charge for a local bus pass. Long distance services may offer discounts on individual journeys or a discount card for regular travellers. For example, National Express does a Young Person's Coach Card or a Student Discount Card for £8.
|
How long does it last? | Most passes last for a year. (National Express has a coach card that lasts three years for £19) |
Who is it for? | Local bus passes are often for young people in full-time education. Longer distance coach cards are for all young people under 26 or in full-time education. |
What does it give you? | Concession prices on all bus fares. Individual Bus Companies determine these, but they usually average at around 30%. |
