cog_bultThe world of work
Children are introduced to the world of work through national curriculum topics or themes. For example when studying materials, children may visit a paper mill or an ironworks to look at what is produced, how it is produced and the jobs involved. See: Case Study
cog_bultSkill development
Children mature dramatically during these two stages. As their independence increases so does the way they think. They learn to make decisions and choices that affect them personally. By developing good decision making skills at this stage, they will be better prepared for making subject and career choices in Key Stages 3 & 4.
cog_bultGroup work
Children learn to work as part of a group, through project work, social activities and general involvement in school life. The contribution of individual skills to a class or group situation is valued.
