GETTING STARTED

Before actually starting your application, it is our experience that most people find it beneficial to have a basic understanding of the contextual background of fellowship including the different categories of fellowship open to you.

Associate Fellowship (D1), Fellowship (D2) and Senior Fellowship (D3)

For those looking at D1-D3, the first thing you should do  is to watch our ‘Getting Started Guide’ video.  Completing the Advance HE fellowship category tool will also give you an indication of how your current practice aligns with the different fellowship categories.

Once you have done this you should book onto a Development Workshop. Our feedback strongly suggests that this will save you a lot of time in the long run and allow you to make good progress in the right direction from the start.

After attending a workshop, you can then register for the TALENT scheme and attend Writing Retreats for ongoing support with your application.

Further comprehensive information for D1-D3 can be found in the Application Process pages in the main menu above, which will take you through developing, compiling and submitting your application.

Principal Fellowship (D4)

If you are interested in Principal Fellowship (D4) you should watch the D4 Principal Fellow video (available soon), undertake the Advance HE fellowship category tool and then contact talent@shu.ac.uk for the next steps.
