Section 9: Sample Applications

 transcript

In this section we want to give you some examples of the use of ICT to support learning in a range of teaching contexts and subject areas. We hope these examples might encourage you to consider appropriate ways you might use ICT within your own teaching. You might also want to search the Web for further examples.

For your final activity we would like you to revisit the group or type of students you looked at in activity 2, where you identified barriers to learning and considered a strategy to vercome those barriers. Now we would like you to consider whether ICT could support that strategy, and if so, how and why is it appropriate? If you come to the conclusion that ICT would not be helpful, then detail your reasons.

Checklist

  3. The Barriers - Describe the barriers to learning you have identified within this context
  4. The Solution(s) - Discuss the possible ICT-based solutions you might use to overcome these barriers and include a rationale (based in relevant learning & teaching theory) for your decisions.
