Verbs

Grammar Bug ' Hello, I am Grammar Bug. My job is to help you with the rules of writing.'

Grammar BugVerbs are 'action' or 'doing' words, such as jump, run, eat or play.

Grammar BugVerbs are also 'being' words,
such as are, is, or have.

Grammar BugVerbs are used in different 'tenses.' For example:
I run or I can run - the present tense
I ran I was running - the past tense
I will run, or I will be running - the future tense

Here are some spelling lists for you to learn.

To practise spellings:

  1. Look at the word (look at the shape of the word and the letters used)
  2. Say the word
  3. Write the word
  4. Cover the word
  5. Try to write the word again
  6. Check the word (you could ask someone to check the word for you to make sure it is correct)
