Verbs are 'action' or 'doing' words, such as jump, run, eat or play.
Verbs are also 'being' words,
such as are, is, or have.
Verbs are used in different 'tenses.' For example:
I run or I can run - the present tense |
I ran I was running - the past tense |
I will run, or I will be running - the future tense |
Here are some spelling lists for you to learn.
To practise spellings:
- Look at the word (look at the shape of the word and the letters used)
- Say the word
- Write the word
- Cover the word
- Try to write the word again
- Check the word (you could ask someone to check the word for you to make sure it is correct)
Spelling List 1 - adding 'ing'
