Students taking Unit L1207, Ecology and Biodiversity, are required to undertake field and laboratory work relating to Blackamoor, a site on the moorland fringe to the west of Sheffield. The purpose of this site is to provide background material on this site to help in the completion of this assignment.
Most of the information for this web site has been taken from the management plan for the site produced in 1996 by the Sheffield Centre for Ecology and Environmental Management (SCEEM). A full copy of the text of this plan can be downloaded in Word 97 format by clicking here. Additional information has been taken from Anderson (1984).
