VR Prosthetics Leap Motion
Using a Leap Motion camera, users can interact with a virtual kitchen environment using prosthetic limbs. The arms can be changed to a variety of different types of prosthesis. Users can also experience this using a VR Headset.

3D Scan
Using a digital camera to collect images of an object from various angles, we can recreate a realistic 3D model of it using photogrammetry. This interactive scene is just a simple demonstration of what can be achieved.

Augmented Reality
Augmented reality is being used by student nurses at Sheffield Hallam University to allow tutors to assess how they communicate with patients. The idea behind the technology is to bring the training mannequin to life and the iPad application contains various scenarios, recorded by actors, to make the situation feel more realistic for the students.

A 3D animation showing the journey of an aspirin tablet as it travels through the digestive system and into the body.

Blood
Explore the bloodstream from a cellular level - An interactive virtual tour of the bloodstream with narration. This was developed to explore the possibilities of virtual reality for educational purposes.

Brain
A narrated, interactive 3D brain that allows you to look inside the brain, access MRI scans, search for anatomy, display labels, watch videos etc.

A mixed media interactive training tool that shows you how to safely use the RC6 centrifuge in the bioscience labs at city campus. It includes, narration, animation, videos and a quiz.

Crime Scene
A virtual crime scene that can be explored online by criminology students. Included are 2 scenarios both with exterior and interior scenes to explore. Also works in VR with the Oculus Rift.

Criminal Justice Realities App
Created for the Criminal Justice Realities module of the Bsc Criminology degree. This app allows users to look around 2 virtual crimescenes to assess what took place and which evidence is important. They are used as part of a case study and taught with input from an external company - CSI Training and events ltd.

ENT
An animation of the anatomy of the Ear, Nose and Throat focussing on common problems associated with the vocal chords. This can also be displayed in Stereoscopic 3D inside the Sheffield Hallam Immersive Visualisation Environment. Developed for Sheffield Teaching Hospital

Forensics App
An Android app that allows forensics students to explore an interactive 3D virtual crime scene. Users can pick up and package evidence using specialist forensic equipment, submit their work online and get feedback from lecturers. The app takes advantage of gyroscopic sensors in the android device to allow users to explore the scene more naturally.

Haptics
Using a Phantom Omni Haptic pen we are able to "touch" virtual objects in a VR environment. This technology could be applied to virtual surgery, cannulation, palpation etc. this is just a tech demo created as a demonstration.

A 3D animation to demonstrate the correct and incorrect ways to insert a Veress needle for laparoscopic surgery.

Lung Pathologies
A 3D animated overview of some of the typical conditions that can affect breathing including Emphysema, Asthma and Bronchiectasis. This can also be displayed in Stereoscopic 3D inside the Sheffield Hallam Immersive Visualisation Environment.

Packaging
Created for Innovation futures, this was a test to see if 3D software could create a visual prototype of a new design of packaging faster than traditional methods (injection moulding etc.) this app was created in less than 1 day by 1 person compared to 2 days of traditional methods using a team of people.

Project Perfection
A 3D visualisation of a design by Sheffield Hallam for a new football training tool for Al-Ahli football team in Dubai. This video was used to pitch the idea to the company and secure a contract to build the device for them.

Lifewise
A virtual tour of the Lifewise centre in Rotherham. We took hundreds of photos and stitched them together to create a 360 degree virtual tour similar to google street maps. Paramedics use this for scene assesment before working with one of our simulation manikins to add a level of realism to the scenario.
