Forces and the vertical jump

Forces and the vertical jump

Your first task is to write 300 words explaining how force is used to cause the motion in a vertical jump. You can do this jointly with one other member of the group. You should aim to complete this task before the start of week 4 of the course.
Start the analysis process by watching the video and identifying which forces you think are responsible for the motion you see. You only need to consider the movement up to an instant prior to landing. i.e. you do not need to explain the motion once the jumper has landed.
To help with your analysis look at the key texts identified in your unit handbook. If you have lost you unit handbook you can get another copy in the Module Documents folder in the Blackboard area for this unit.
Once you have composed your explanation send it to the Discussion Board in Blackboard - a thread has already been started for your response. Look at other peoples explanations on the Discussion Board and note similarities and differences to your explanation.
