There are many rules and regulations in the game of ice hockey which spectators and players may find confusing. The objective of this website is to make sure the users of the website go away being able to understand the rules and regulations.

 

In the game of ice hockey the play is split into three periods of 20 minutes with 15 minutes break inbetween. Everytime the play is interrupted the clock is stopped therefore each period could last longer than 20 minutes. If the game is tied at the end of regulation time, then a 5 minute sudden death overtime is played, if at the end of 5 minutes the game is still tied then the eventual winner is decided via a penalty shoot out.
